Ten minutes to change your life
The 19 November 2014 is National Stress Awareness Day. The British Heart Foundation is encouraging everyone to take ten minutes to think about stress in the workplace and how it can be minimised.
Being stressed can lead to unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, drinking too much alcohol and eating unhealthy foods. Stressed individuals may have problems sleeping, a loss of appetite and feel worried, hopeless or alone.
The British Heart Foundation suggests that if you feel stressed, tense, angry or depressed, give yourself some space and remind yourself that getting stressed won’t help. Focus on what you can do to change the situation. Challenge negative thoughts and try to focus on positive ones.
