National Childhood Obesity Week

With schools about to break for summer there is a challenge for parents and grandparents to provide entertainment and wholesome meals for children during the break. 

From 3rd to 9th July, charity MEND (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition ... Do it!) are running National Childhood Obesity Week, raising awareness of the dangers of being above a healthy weight during childhood.

Healthy eating habits can be developed during childhood so encourage your employees to involve their children in the kitchen, helping them to learn about the foods they are eating and enjoy a balanced, healthy diet.

After all with two thirds of adults, a quarter of 2-10 year olds and one third of 11-15 year olds being overweight or obese.  It's important for everyone to understand the factors that contribute to obesity.
