Heart attack test ‘cuts hospital stays’
7 October 2015
BBC news has today reported that a simple blood test could more than halve the number of people admitted to hospital with a suspected heart attack.
The blood test detects a chemical in the blood and trials on over 6,000 people suggested it was over 99% accurate.
This method of diagnosis would reduce stress for patients, save money and ease pressure on hospital wards. Furthermore, The British Heart Foundation said the test would produce faster answers without affecting patient safety.
