Mental health issues remain the most common cause of workplace absence. According to Aviva’s latest Absence Management Report, 43% of UK employees have taken sickness absence of two weeks or more at some point in their working lives. The cause for 33% of workers is stress and mental health.
Around 72% of employers consider staff with mental health and stress issues to be the most challenging to reintegrate into the workplace. However 58% of employers do not offer any benefits to help employees manage stress.
